John Frankenheimer’s Seconds follows a dissatisfied banker offered the chance to abandon his life and begin again with a new face and identity. Rock Hudson, eager to break free from the leading man roles, plays the man he becomes. His casting adds another layer to a film about the promise and unease of starting over—and what, if anything, survives the transformation.

Restored from a 4K digital film transfer, Seconds was released on Blu-ray by The Criterion Collection in 2013.
