HUGHIE: First Look and Opening Weekend
Green Lung Studio in collaboration with Quick & Dirty Theatre Company are proud to present Eugene O'Neill's classic play HUGHIE with Bobby Cole.
The play written by the great Eugne O'Neill in 1941, centers around Erie Smith, a down-and-out gambler mourning the recent death of Hughie, the former night clerk of the hotel where Erie resides.
We're excited to bring Hughie back to Red Hook. Last played in the neighborhood by Bobby Cole himself over 20 years ago at the legendary Sunny's Bar. Join us for this electric performance. Directed by Steven Carmona.
Bobby Cole founded Brooklyn Stage Company in Red Hook in 1992, with productions of HUGHIE and LOOK BACK IN ANGER. In spring 1994, he produced & directed WAITING FOR GODOT on the Museum Barge, featuring Sunny Balzano as Lucky. MACBETH @ 55 Ferris Street followed in the fall. Favorite roles over the years include Hamm in ENDGAME, Oedipus in OEDIPUS REX, & the Ghost in HAMLET.
