THE SUNNY FRINGE | KENJI HERBERT TRIO | NETA QUINTET

August 28 | 7PM

Kenji Herbert is an Austrian-Japanese guitarist and composer residing in Brooklyn, New York. Having distilled his diverse background and influences into a highly individual, yet versatile sound, he is a sought-after collaborator by a wide range of artists. He will be joined by bassist Scott Colberg and drummer Nathan Ellman-Bell to perform material off of his latest release 'As If For Now' as well as new compositions that were written during the pandemic.

In this iteration of Neta Raanan's quintet, she is joined by Tyrone Allen on bass, Kayvon Gordon on drums, Juan Diego Villalobos on vibraphone, and Yoav Eshed on guitar. Original compositions and improvisations weave together influences of second Miles Davis quintet, Ornette Coleman, Kurt Rosenwinkel, and attempt to break through to textures individual to this combination of minds, previously unheard.

The Sunny Fringe is a new project from Israeli-Canadian cellist Daniel Hass.
